Staying Strong in 2021!

1/19/21

Please help us to reinstate the protocols that allow us to safely operate within our schools:

Complete Your Child’s Daily Symptom and Temp Check Stickers:Please resume the daily check and ensure your child has a signed and dated sticker on the outermost layer of clothing for quick verification upon entry. Review the SCREENING REMINDERS here.

Stay Home When Sick: Please help us by keeping your child home if they are experiencing any symptoms or if anyone in the home is awaiting COVID test results due to symptoms. We are following all exclusion guidelines through the Illinois Department of Public Health with regard to school attendance and quarantine. Please contact your school nurse with any questions or concerns.

Follow Safe Practices in our Community:
Wear Your Mask. Wash Your Hands. Watch Your Distance. Avoid non-essential travel and gatherings outside of your household. Taking these steps together as a community supports the health and safety of all.

Let’s continue to support one another as we navigate this unique year with care.

Thank you!

NEW! Please visit our TESTING site for the January testing protocols.

Please visit our resource site for the 2020-2021 year.

Please visit our weekly overview of our metrics data - COVID-19 Dashboard.  While this represents a snapshot in time of the data, we continue to reflect upon the trends and are monitoring all factors as we make informed decisions about the learning model in our schools. The review of these metrics and consideration of the operations within District 35 must guide the sustainability of our in-person learning within our schools.

We are pleased to welcome our staff and students to the new school year. While we approach our new year with many new protocols and safety measures, it is wonderful to see the way our students have embraced the routines of our new year.

We thank you for ensuring your child is temperature and symptom checked each day before arriving at school. Across the community, we require support to model healthy behavior and slow the spread of COVID-19. We thank you for wearing a mask and supporting your child to wear a mask while in public spaces.

Should you have any specific questions about your child’s daily routines or access to the online materials, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We will be sure to include appropriate team members for additional support.

While the pandemic has impacted daily life for us all, we remain steadfast in our commitment to educating your children and supporting their healthy development. I am most grateful to our Planning Committee for their dedication to create new possibilities for our educational experiences. Together, we can make the best of this unprecedented situation and prioritize our children and staff in the process.

In partnership,

Superintendent
