Celebrating Music In Our Schools

In District 35, our children are given musical experiences beginning in kindergarten and continuing through eighth grade. Through the years, students develop musical skills, knowledge, understanding, and attitudes that will benefit them throughout their lives. The objective of our music program is to engage each child in a variety of musical experiences. These experiences provide the foundation for each child to develop a love and appreciation of music as a medium for expression, creative play and personal achievement. Growing neuroscience research has also shown the incredible impact of music experiences on brain development.

Visit our curriculum guide for more details of the program and to learn about the objectives for each grade level.

Music is a vital component of the educational experiences to ensure we are developing the whole child. We welcome parents and community members to join us for the spring celebrations which remain on the calendar. Seeing our children in action is a celebration sure to bring joy to your day!
