On May 18th, we hosted a Bike Safety Rodeo at South School. This was a free program presented by Glencoe Public Safety, the Glencoe Park District, and District 35 for all children. During the afternoon, children registered their bike with Public Safety, received a free helmet safety check, and completed a bike course challenge. We were pleased to offer this option and celebrate the spring season for riding bikes safely around Glencoe.
Please consider supporting your child to ride their bike to school each day. Be sure to check our District 35 Safe Routes to School guide so you are aware of the locations of crossing guards and stops along the way.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar and save May 22nd as the date for our annual Bike or Walk to School Day. We look forward to seeing our bike racks full and much shorter carlines at each school. Consider making this a new habit as we end the school year!
