District 35 COVID-19 Testing for Students

STEP 1:
Register your CHILD to do the Required COVID-19 Test
Register each child and be prepared with your insurance information. If your child has possible exposure to COVID-19 or is experiencing symptoms, the testing fee will be covered by the student’s health insurance. District 35 will cover the $10 lab fee. If there has been no exposure, insurance will not be billed and all costs will be covered by District 35 ($85).
Don't delay! Registration is open December 10th - December 16th. This will ensure we have all testing materials ready for the January test dates.

STEP 2:
PICK UP a Test Kit & Collect Your Child's Sample
This test requires a quick and easy saliva sample.
TEST KITS must be picked up at Central School from 9am - 2pm on January 7th or January 8th.
You may come at anytime in the 9am-2pm window and pull up to the tent which will be outside the main entrance of Central School (620 Greenwood Avenue). A kit and paperwork will be ready for all those who registered.
COLLECT THE SAMPLE at home the day you will return it in the carline. Be sure your child does not eat, drink or chew gum for 30 minutes before giving the sample.
• Brief video to detail the collection process
• Detailed directions for the saliva collection
• Information from Ambry on the test specifications

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO USE THE DISTRICT 35 TEST? Should a family prefer to complete their own testing, District 35 will accept the negative result of a PCR test (not a RAPID test) administered in Illinois between January 10, 2021 - January 14, 2021. Such results must be shared with the school nurse prior to a student returning for in-person instruction.
