District 35 COVID-19 Metrics

To have an accurate picture of COVID-19 data affecting the Glencoe schools, the District must consider both local Glencoe data and a wider region around our area. The District team meets weekly to review the trends and consider the rolling average 7-Day COVID positivity rate. To most accurately capture the areas of our students, community, and staff we review Glencoe, New Trier Township, and Illinois Region 10.

Based on guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health and epidemiological guidance, we are monitoring the Region 10 positivity rate to:
- consider additional in-person learning experiences with a positivity rate declining and below 4% for multiple days
- consider hybrid learning experiences with a steady positivity rate no > 8%
- consider the need for remote learning experiences with a positivity rate > 8% for 14 consecutive days

Additional review of the Cook County Department of Public Health review of metrics for Adaptive Pause will also occur.

Review Date: June 2, 2021

Additional operational considerations are also reviewed weekly. While considering the possibility of community transmission, we review active positive cases within our student and staff community. In addition, we consider the compliance with our safety protocols such as mask wearing and daily symptom screening. The ongoing supply of PPE and cleaning/disinfecting supplies is a critical consideration to ensure our school environment is prepared each day. The need for remote learning experiences would be required should our PPE and cleaning/disinfecting materials move below two weeks supply levels.

The following reflects the prior week of data and is updated each Wednesday.
