District 35 COVID-19 Metrics

To have an accurate picture of COVID-19 data affecting the Glencoe schools, the District must consider both local Glencoe data and a wider region around our area. The new CDC COVID-19 Community Levels are used as a measure of the impact of COVID-19 illness on health and healthcare systems. The District team reviews the trends and considers the case rates in our schools.

Based on guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health and epidemiological guidance, we are monitoring cases in our schools to:
- consider shifts in mitigation in specific locations in our schools
- consider changes in operational protocols to minimize risks
- consider increase in frequency of screening testing protocols in response to increasing case rates
- consider the need for enhanced cleaning in response to cases in a specific location

Additional review with the Cook County Department of Public Health will occur for any Adaptive Pause consideration.

While considering the possibility of community transmission, we review active positive cases within our student and staff community. In addition, we consider operational impact with absences due to COVID-like symptoms. The ongoing supply of PPE and cleaning/disinfecting supplies is a critical consideration to ensure our school environment is prepared each day.

The following reflects the prior week of data and is now updated on each week on Sunday. COVID case rate posting ended on January 31, 2023.
