Board Meeting Highlights - June 8, 2009
  • The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. on June 8, 2009.
  • The regular and closed session minutes for May 4, 2009 were approved.
  • During the first opportunity for public comments Ms. Wendi Williams and Mrs. Joy Fiorini, Co-Presidents of the Glencoe PTO, presented the Board with a check
  • Dr. Howe was recognized for his contributions to the school district during his eleven years of service.
  • Mr. Edelheit reported the End Fund Balance for May 2009 as $19,430,906.
  • In order to maintain the Board’s guiding principals and plan for the loss of revenues due to a flat C.P.I., several financial options were outlined for the Board members.
  • Approval was given to pay the June 2009 bills and authorization to pay bills prior to the end of the fiscal year June 30, 2009.
  • The Personnel Report for June 2009 was also approved.
  • The Board approved the Tentative Budget for 2009-2010 and Certificate of Notice of Publication and Notice of Public Hearing.
  • The Board approved maintaining the same rate for custodial overtime related to building rental.
  • The Board approved resolutions to join New Trier High School in three property tax appeals.
  • The Board approved the annual Prevailing Wage Resolution indicating contractors working for the District would pay wages comparable to other contractors in the immediate area.
  • The Board members approved two resolutions in order to move forward with restructuring of bonds.
  • During the second opportunity for Public Comments Mr. Stauber asked about the school district’s arrangements with outside companies who sell or rent instruments.
  • The meeting was adjourned.
  • The next regular monthly meeting of the Board is scheduled for July 13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. A public hearing to review the restructuring of bonds will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Board of Education Members
Four members of the Board of Education were sworn into office following the April 2009 election. The Board welcomes a new member, Nancy Shaw and returning members Rob Bailey, Eddie Chez, and Keith Stauber.



    

 
FUTURE MEETINGS

You are invited to the meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. at Central School. It will be held in Young Auditorium. Each agenda provides a time for "Public Comments" when citizens may address the Board.
