Board Committee Meeting

Board Meeting Highlights - January 11, 2010
  • The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
  • Dr. Linda Yonke, Superintendent of New Trier High School, reviewed the proposed $174 million referendum for improvements to the Winnetka Campus of New Trier High School.
  • The regular meeting of the Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
  • Mr. Edelheit reviewed fee information for the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Dr. Crawford reviewed planning information for the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Mr. Bailey reviewed information regarding Board self-evaluation with a representative from the Illinois Association of School Boards.
  • Mr. Edelheit identified the End Fund Balance for December 2009 as $23,575,412.
  • The Board approved the January 2010 Bill List and the Revised Personnel Report.
  • Mr. Edelheit reviewed a response to the FY09 audit report.
  • Closed session minutes for January through December 2009 were approved for release. Closed Session tapes 18 months or older were also approved for destruction.
  • Five Board Policies were revised.
  • There were no public comments during the second opportunity.
  • There were no Committee Reports.
  • The meeting was adjourned to closed session for the purpose of discussing matters related to the placement of individual students in special education programs and matters related to individual students. Following adjournment of closed session the Board returned to open session and adjourned the meeting. .
  • The next regular monthly meeting of the Board is scheduled for February 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Education Meetings
Members of the Glencoe Educational Foundation (GEF) Board were honored by the Board of Education for their contributions to District 35. Also in attendance were major contributors to the GEF Summerfest.





Dr. Cinnamon, Jill Unger, and Alyssa Weller provided the Board with an update on the gardens at South School. The Edible Garden and Rain Garden were Generation E Initiative programs funded by the PTO.





The Board approved resolutions to refinance current bonds.

You are invited to the meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. at Central School. It will be held in Young Auditorium. Each agenda provides a time for "Public Comments" when citizens may address the Board.
