Tue Dec 01, 2009 Water Safety Program This particular unit has two very distinct components. The classroom section is taught at Central in the gym with props, videos and class discussion. The remaining portion is taught on the pool deck at New Trier (East) High School. . While most children eagerly anticipate the field trip to New Trier's pool there are always a few students electing to participate from the pool deck (no suit needed). All students should bring a towel regardless of their participation level. The parent letter, field trip form and class schedule may all be downloaded and printed from this site. For further question please feel free to call Mrs. Golden or Mr. Skibbe at 847 835-7632 More... Mon Dec 01, 2008 Welcome to Mrs. Golden's website. We have a variety of fun activities planned for your student. For some extra fun scroll down and see what your "real age" is by following the link. In order to make things easy in activities with forms or paperwork extra copies are available here. These forms & study guides are available online to reduce paper waste. The following forms may be viewed, downloaded and printed from home, then returned to school: Skating Letter Note: The skating letter and form should be filled out and returned to your child's PE teacher at the appropriate time (usually in March). Please enjoy the pictures of previous years' students at New Trier's pool during our Water Safety Unit. More information will be coming home closer to the actual trip. While the Fifth Grade participate in a water safety program, our Sixth Graders have their first taste of dance. We work on fun line dances (no partners) that revolve around current teen focused music and or movies. The picture below is from the "Thriller" dance from the movie 13 Going on 30. - The swim letter is informational only. A permission slip will be sent home later to be filled out and then returned. If your child can not find their slip simply print one from this site, fill it out and return it to your child's PE teacher. - The climbing notebook is a structured blog giving students an opportunity to reflect on their climbing experiences. The questions are intended to encourage the thought process and stir the imagination. Wed Nov 05, 2008 Your Real Age? Many factors effect our bodies and how they age; some we have more control over than others. Those that we have control over are a part of "healthy choices". In order to see the cumulative impact of those choices there are websites dedicated to your "real age". The one listed below is simple and quite complete in the scope of health factors it uses. Have your whole family give it a try!
