Patty Golden
Patty Golden lives in Libertyville
with her two college age sons, pharmacist husband and two dogs. Her hobbies
include gardening, cooking (some of which she grows), and running an agility
course with her 1 yr old Australian Shepard mix dog.
Mrs. Golden has worked as a Physical Education teacher, a Lifeguard/Pool Supervisor,
a Paramedic, an American Red Cross Instructor and worn many hats in the family
pharmacy in Deerfield. Mrs. Golden attended University of Illinois
where she was a member of the gymnastics team and received her BS in Physical
Education. Her advanced studies were in Information Technology from Northern
Illinois University.
Hilary Lee
I have been a teacher in the Glencoe Schools for 15 years, teaching
at all three schools. I was bom and raised in Glencoe, went to the Glencoe
schools and New Trier HighSchool. I have my degree in physical education
from the University of Michigan. I have two grown children, both of whom went
tthrough the Glencoe Schools. I am currently a Glencoe Park Board member. I
enjoy all sports, induding running, bicyde riding, tennis. golf. roller blading,
skiing and playing hockey.
Mrs. Tyre, Health Teacher
Born in Chicago, Gerri Tyre, has been teaching for over 20 years. Having
attended Northeastern Ilinois University, she earned a B.S. in Biology, Secondary
Education and a M.S. in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation. She
taught in a variety of capacities and grade levels including: Science Coordinator
in Oak Park, 1st grade P.E., middle school health and science, high school
biology, health and physics, college health, along with math and science in
a Sicilian school for boys and G.E.D. classes at Oakton Community College.
She worked as an intern exercise physiologist at Swedish Covenant Hospital
in Chicago, and taught First Aid and CPR classes for the American Red Cross.
Now in her 8th year at Central, she is enjoying the change from science to
health because she can spend more time keeping up with her very active teenage
son and daughter. Mrs. Tyre loves to travel with her family and so for has
visited Italy, Germany, England, Switzerland, Holland, Mexico, and Jamaica.
For fun, she enjoys reading, bicycling, walking, and cooking. One of her most
thrilling experiences was parasailing for the first time in Haiti two summers
ago.
Mike Skibbe
Mike Skibbe is proud to be one of the newest members of the Central School community. He comes to Central from Winnetka, where he taught for three years as a traveling elementary PE teacher. Before teaching, Mike went to the University of Illinois and is a die-hard Illini fan. It is common to see him walking in the hallways sporting orange and blue colors. He is currently enrolled in graduate school at Northeastern Illinois University, seeking his master's degree in Exercise Science. Mike is a sports fanatic. His favorite teams include the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and of course the Illini! Mr. Skibbe is excited about teaching at Central and looks forward to a great year!
Bill Schufreider
Bill Schufreider graduated from Loyola Academy and Loras College. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Loras. I have been teaching Physical Education for the past 11 years. He has taught elementary and junior high school and high school. Over the past 17 years, Bill has coached baseball at all different levels, spending five of these years coaching at the collegiate level. During the summer, he is the sports director at a local day camp. Bill is married with 4 children.
Nicholas Tabic
Nicholas Tabic grew up in Park Ridge and attended Maine South High School. He received a degree in Physical Education and Health from Northeastern Illinois University. He will be working towards a graduate degree next year. Mr. Tabic student taught at Deerfield High School, where he also coached baseball and football. He has been a baseball coach at the freshman and sophomore levels for two years now.
Last summer, Mr. Tabic taught High Ropes at Central School summer school.
Mr. Tabic also is coaching 7th grade girls' volleyball and "having a blast". This is his first time coaching a girls' sport and they are having a great time and learning a lot. When Mr. Tabic isn't at school with his classes or his volleyball team, he is usually at the gym working out, spending time with family and friends, or watching and playing sports.
Central School is Nick's first teaching position out of college, and he is thrilled to be working in a district with so many amazing people. The staff is so supportive and caring. The students are wonderful. Everyday he comes home with a smile on his face because they make every day special.
He loves the Bears and Cubs, and he thinks this is the best Bears team Chicago has had in a while. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Mr. Tabic loves being here and he looks forward to a long and happy career at Central. Say hello if you see him in the halls. He's a pretty nice guy. |
